I have a form created from Infopath and published in a sharepoint form library. The form works almost perfectly. I have another list which is setup to generate an auto incrementing number., I have a workflow in SP designer setup to generate the next number each time the form is opened. I have in the infopath a formula that should be auto filling in a single field (formID) with ECO-000 - and the new incremented number, the formula reads like this. concat("ECO-", 0000, @nextnumber) @Nextnumber is the relevant field in the incremented number list created, each time the form is opened this number goes up by one (workflow does this) The idea is the form is opened, the number is taken and goes up by one, and when the form opens the field called FORMID automatically displays ECO-0001, ECO-0002 and so on. Then when the user submits the form I simply tell the save portion to use the form id as the filename, that keeps everything unique. Problem is, when I open the form, the formID field displays this instead. ECO-0float;#6.00000000000000 I have no idea why this is what I get, and nothing I do seems to fix it?

I'm not sure why you'd might want the form to update it's number each time? Why not have the initially submitted form open in a new view and set a Form Load rule to set a fields value?
