    Real-Time Conditional Formatting

    Hello All!

I am having an issue in regards to conditional formatting in a form I am designing. At the bottom of each form view I have a button that is disabled until all required fields are filled in and are valid (email, date etc).

However, the button's logic only re-enables the button when the person filling out the form leaves the field of the last required control. In other words, they must click out of the control before the button becomes clickable. Is there any way to make the button enabled whilst the person is still typing in a required field?

    Thanks!!

    Rob

I don't believe so.  InfoPath only responds to field changes once the focus leaves the field.

Thanks, is it possible to change the field focus after one character has been typed into the field?
    Cheers!

No, I don't believe it's possible to do anything until the user actively moves focus away from the field.

Actually, there is one technique. You can right click the control, select Text Box Properties and choose hte Display tab. You will see a checkbox to Limit text box to 1 characters. When checked, you can also check the box underneath it to "Move to the next control automatically when the limit is reached".

Thanks for your replies! The "Move to the next control automatically when the limit is reached" option appears to be the closest method to achieve what I was looking for, I will just have to make sure that the last control in a view has a character limited input (like a 4 digit postcode) At the moment clients have to manually click out of a control before the next button becomes enabled, which really hinders the flow of the form, but this should solve the problem.

     Cheers!
