How to create a custom Ribbon

    Hello everyone,

I am desigining a form in Infopath 2010 and wanted to know if I can create a custom ribbon so that I can add custom commands buttons on it. This is not a Sharepoint or a browser form. It is a local form that my company folks will use to fill up few details.

Any snippet or link shall do.

    thanks in advance

    Jesse

    Hi Jesse,

Here is a link to an msdn article that will get you started: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee475611.aspx

Your solution will likely involve at least some amount of code in order to achieve this.

    Hope this helps,

    Anson

    Hi Anson,

The link wont work cause I am not using VS project. I am just designing the form in InfoPath based on an XML data.

Am not sure if we can customize the Ribbon when a user opens a IP form.

    Regards,

    Jesse

What sort of functionality are you looking to customize in the ribbon?  Will buttons on the form be a good workaround for you?

well.. what i need is to add a "Choice section" on a click of button. But based on this article I am unable to do so because clicking on a button will move the focus to it and will give an Error when you use the ExecuteAction method, to solve this the button should be on a custom task pane, menu or a toolbar to call the executeAction method.

Any other ideas how to add a "Choice Section" group programmatically?

    regards,

    Jesse
