Lets say I have a blank form, and a drop down asking what kind of form would you be using. Now based on their selection, I want a section to show. Why isnt there information on this. All I keep finding is information on, hiding sections if something is selected in a drop down list. like a 'show if' command or conditional format. Is this not possible? I cant believe it is not. Another option I have is changing the views completely but I am trying to stay away from that route. Who ever gets this gets brownie points lol

Well - InfoPath doesn't really have a show if - you can add conditional formatting to your section that says "if this field is NOT equal to this value, hide this section".

So, let's say you want the section to show if your field has a value of "Approved". The conditional formatting would be set to hide the control if field1 is not equal to "Approved"

    Does that make sense?

Yes, thank you Hilary. It took me a few minutes to understand what I was doing but I got exactly what I wanted. Thanks, thanks, thanks.
