Deploying an Infopath Form to a SharePoint (2010) Site Without Publishing to it

    Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to use an InfoPath web form on a SharePoint site without having to publish it to the site directly. I'm using SharePoint 2010, and I've heard that you could publish a form as an msi in 2007, but they removed the feature for 2010.

I need to be able to do this to allow deployment without having any development tools.

Let me know if this is at all possible.

    Thanks,

    Colin

    Hello Colin,

is it possible for you to use PowerShell for deploying your form?

Instead of publishing the form to the server you can use the following commands to publish a form to a specific site collection:

Uninstall the existing solution - if there“s one:
    Uninstall-SPInfoPathFormTemplate -Identity form.xsn

    Install the new solution:
    Install-SPInfoPathFormTemplate -Path C:\form.xsn

Disable feature on site collection level
    Disable-SPInfoPathFormTemplate -Identity form.xsn -Site http://YourSPSite

Enable feature on site collection level
    Enable-SPInfoPathFormTemplate -Identity form.xsn -Site http://YourSPSite

    Hope that helps.

    Regards

    Karsten

    Thanks for the reply!

To do this would I publish the form to a network location then use the published form to deploy with PowerShell?

    Thanks again,

    Colin
