QRules insert - inserting picture/File attachment field as mandatory

    Hi

    I am using qrules 3.1.

I am using the insert command, the child I am inserting has a number of fields, one of which is a picture/file attachment.

The insert works 'correctly' BUT the file attachment is set as cannot be blank.  The attachment needs to be optional.  I am using the insert command from code - by putting the correct string into the QdabraRules secondary DB.

Am I doing something wrong ?  Should insert be able to insert file attachment fields ?  Is it the "notnilable" ghost haunting me ?

    Any ideas ?

    Thank you

    Catharine

    Hi, Catharine:

I'd guess that it is the xsi:nil attribute causing the issue - Insert uses sampledata.xml, which, if I recall correctly, doesn't have the nil attribute.

The SetValue command can be used to add the nil attribute (looks like this was added in v2.4) - will that work for your scenario? You'd run your insert, then SetValue for the attachment field with /nil=true.
