I have created an InfoPath form used to capture user acknowledgements, much like a survey. It asks for their user id, the subject of the email they are acknowledging, and the business team they belong to.
What I would like to do is auto populate the Subject field, instead of requiring them to copy it from the email and paste it in the form field in InfoPath.
The only way I can think to do this is to use views.
I successfully created a view that submits the email communication and in it the administrator inputs the Subject. My thought was that when the user clicks to open the InfoPath template stored at http://sharepoint.companyname.com/sites/SAG_BWT_BCC/Training/Mailbox%20Communications%20Test/Forms/template.xsn it would open to the default view "Respond", and allow the user to complete and submit the form as usual, but instead the Subject field is populated from the Administrator view and is static.
Instead what's happening is the user clicks the link, the Respond view is opened but the subject field is blank. Is my thinking completely wrong in how I envision this working, or am I just not excuting properly?
