I've noticed that when you change the format for the date picker in the properties dialog, it seems to only change how it looks. I have a web service that doesn't recognize the format as correct, but it seems to work in another form with the same web service.

 Is there another way to change the format?

Very strange. Might be a bug in the schema inference when the Web service was created. You should try removing and readding it. Make sure the Web service actually returns a valid date in the WSDL.

You can also use qRules FormatDate command and add a rule to your datepicker that invokes it and then sets the value of a string field with the result. Lots of formatting options.
