Multiple bindings to the same field/autopopulate repeating table

I have an access file set up with a table containing a list of allowable equipment and another table linked to the first one which stores data about every piece of equipment every day.

I am looking to set up infopath as follows where the Equip list is pre entered so the user doesn't need to re-enter it every day (there is an access table listing all equipment):

    Date _________

    Equip1 Availability1 Comment1
    Equip2 Availability2 Comment2
    Equip3 Availability3 Comment3
    Equip4 Availability4 Comment4

And have all this information stored in my access table as follows using sumbit once:

    Date Equip1 Availability1 Comment1
    Date Equip2 Availability2 Comment2
    Date Equip3 Availability3 Comment3
    Date Equip4 Availability4 Comment4

I can't figure out how to either autopopulate a repeating table with Equip1,2,3,4 ect OR how to set up a row of control boxes independant of eachother, one for each piece of equipment, so I can fill in multiple entries into access with one submit button.

Ideally I would like to be able to have the user see multple data entry controls of each field, so I can arrange the fields as I see fit (ie put a divider between different equipment types) That is instead of autopopulating the equipment column of a repeating table.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

    EDIT-------

I figured out that you can set a repeating field to have many rows to start with by setting default values and you can even set these default values. How would I populate these default values from a list?

I am assuming that it is impossible to have multiple basic control boxes for a single variable without using a repeating table.
