    Problem using GetErrorCount qrule

    Hello,

I am using  GetErrorCount qrule, then a condition if the Result is 0 than zero, that does mean that form has a validation error.

But it does not show up in any field, so anyone has any idea how we can find which field has the validation issue? I tried using GetErrors qrule, but it also does not show which field has the problem

    Thanks in advance

GetErrors will return the field and the validation message - try it and look at the result if you run just that command. I sometimes copy that info into another field for display on the form. I also use custom validation so that I can return helpful error messages for the user. If the Result of GetErrorCount is greater than 0, the form has data validation errors. :)

    Hello Hilary,

    Thank you for your response.

I used GetErrors and checked the result after that, but it was blank, that's why i could not understand what field is creating validation issue.

    Thanks

If you are using Filler (Preview) you can use Ctrl + Shift + letter o to get the form to pop up a dialog about the error.

    Re: Problem using GetErrorCount qrule

Hi, all.  Jumping in here because this is almost answering what I need, but not quite.  I understand the GetErrors part.  I am using it on a "Save" button.  What I would LIKE to do is, if there is an error, to have the cursor go to the invalid field so the user can fix it.  Is there a way to do that with no code?

I am using InfoPath 2010 w qRules, if that helps.  =)

Are you using a browser form or a filler form? You might be able to find a way to do this in filler (injected with the Rich Client version of qRules) using SetFocus.
