Moving .xml files over to another site produces "The form has been closed" error when trying to open

Thanks for reading, I realized that I am getting this error because the moved files have original URL embedded somehow.

I received this message because I wanted to update our production form (changed Text(string) to Rich Text) but was afraid to publish form. I wanted to verify that the change made to form would not generate any problems or errors. I therefore copied some files from our production environment to another site (test). Republished the form with new changes and now the .xml files are not opening. How do I have these moved files correctly point to this SharePoint site (test)?

Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

After you uploaded the files to the new site, did you relink the xml files to the new library? The approach is different depending on whether you are on SharePoint 2010 or 2007, but here's some info.

Thanks Hilary, I've given up on re-linking (I have SharePoint 2010) and just created another form library in the production site as my "sandbox". Only allowing permissions to myself. Unfortunately, I cannot get my 2 web based forms to share “content types”. I think I am correctly publishing my form because doing a lookup in settings shows me that content field is sharing under “used in” with the 2 form names. I know it is possible to share 2 forms with the same content type. Where am I going wrong?

I'm sorry -- but I'm having trouble understanding what you are describing. Can you tell me what your desired end result is?

Sure, I have 2 web based forms that I published as “content types” and added to “content types” in form library. The 1st form contains some of the columns the 2nd one also uses in SharePoint. When I published the 2nd form, I selected “Site column group” as “Microsoft Office InfoPath” and selected existing field names. User can now click “New” and they are presented with 2 forms to select and everything works well. Both forms are listed in "Settings", "Columns", and “used in”. So obviously they are shared but only the 1st form shows all information and not the 2nd form on main page in SharePoint. What am I doing wrong?

Actually, it sounds like you are doing everything right -- I think you are saying that the values from the promoted columns from the second form aren't displayed in the library -- is that correct? I'm still a little confused as to what this has to do with the error in the title?

I have a problem on form. I originally made my fields as text box with multi-line selected but when a user wrItes a lot, you needed to scroll down plus printing would not show all lines. I changed to Rich Text but the darn Toolbar pops up above and covers a good portion of the description. I only need the expanded feature for viewing and printing.I am afraid I know the answer but putting it out there anyway. Is there a way to suppress the toolbar on a browser-based form using Rich-text?
