How do you expose InfoPath Field Types as those Field Types in a SharePoint Library

I am new to InfoPath and this may seem like a dumb question, but I do not and hav enot found the answer.  When I create an InfoPath form and publish to a SharePoint Library, all the field types in InfoPath, such as Person fields, get published as a "Single Line of Text" field.  this of course create numerous issues.  For example, since this is not a Person field I cannot easily create views with the [me] filter.  I know a workaround, create a person field in the Library, and build workflow to update that field, and then use that field in views, etc..  But that is a lot of work for an enterprise

What am I missing?  Some checkbox in the publishing?

Actually, I don't know that you can promote a field in IP as a Person type (unless using a People Picker does that? Hopefully someone more familiar with that will correct me if it is possible).

Other types should be respected -- if your form field is a date time, for example, your promoted property would be a date time.
