    Qdabra QRules Newbie

I purchased Qrules today having looked at some of the features and services it offers. I setup the demo Date difference that comes as part of the setup files and it is all working except that the number of days between my start date and end Date are coming out as negative number even though my second (End Date) is beyond my Start Date. I can't see that I've done something stupid but its possible. anyone come across this and can tell me what I've done wrong ? On a second matter, is there a good document on all the features and methods that you can call using Qrules 2.4 that can be applied in InfoPath forms as functionality. Any resources of this type or feedback appreciated. Durbs

    Hi:

qRules installs with a user guide and a sample form that can help you. Additional documentation is available here.

For the DateDiff command, the first date parameter is going to be the one you are subtracting the second date from. So, if /date1 is 2010-01-10 and /date2 is 2010-01-01, and /component is days, you'd expect to see a result of 10. If you switched those, you'd have -10. So, I think in your command, you may have used your end date for date2 instead of date1.

Yup , makes perfect sense, thanks for the quick response I had just caught that in a section of the 2.3 help files I found in this forum. On another quick point, does the CopyRichText function allow me to pull Rich Text data from a SharePoint List into a SharePoint field maintaining format, which is a problem I encountered today. as Rich Text fields in SharePoint are not presented in InfoPath Data Connections. Again thanks for your quick response. Durbs

CopyRichText may not help you with this -- I'm not sure right off the bat. You'd have to first change your ShP column to plain text, then create the connection in your form, then change it back. This will pull back the rich text with tags into your form. Now, I'm not sure what will happen if you use CopyRichText to then copy that into your Main Data Source field that is a rich text type -- I haven't tried this. But you may get your desired result. Could be worth a shot!

Nice idea, I did do the initial part of that description earlier and saw the tabs you were talking about, I will do the copy to another Rich Text field using that command and test it out. Thanks Again.
