I have created a web based form, published it to SharePoint 2k7 and it works well except for the fact that when someone opens the form in a browser and clicks in one of the rich text input fields it opens up a "formatting tool" window right on top of my heading for the field. Is there a way to disable that feature from showing up?

For a rich text field that formatting tool is always going to show. Your options are to make the control plain text, or play with the form spacing/design to have the heading of the field display elsewhere.
