Signed VBS code does not get accepted by SharePoint clients

    Hello all!

I have a couple of forms that contain VBS code, which automatically grabs the user's name from LDAP and then puts it in the name field on a form. Now because some part of our company network does not allow unsigned code to be run, I have signed the forms with a certificate and published them that way. For most of the company the forms now work, but the part that requires code to be signed still cannot use the forms we have created.

Also, a few people in the section of the company where the forms do normally work have reported an error that goes like "This form requests domain level security and is only allowed restricted security level." I'm having a hard time getting more specific error messages from them as they are not very IT savvy, but will try to get more information.

    Some specifics:

    • We use Infopath 2003
    • The forms are published to the "Site Collection Documents" library

Some help would be greatly appreciated as I'm at a loss about what's going wrong. As far as I can tell I have set up the certificates properly and the signing authority is also marked as trusted.

    Thanks in advance!

I think I might have found a solution. Turns out the LDAP call we use in the signed code is considered a cross-domain query (the form runs on one domain, the LDAP call runs on the local domain). Cross-domain queries require the trust level of the form to be set to Full Trust, while we had it set to Domain.
