I am wanting to create a Template Part that will link to a data source in it's 'parent' form. I want to know if a form has been submitted in a Template Part (which I will store in a boolean variable in the 'parent' form), but instead of having to manually link each Template Part to a specific data source in the 'parent' form, is there a way to reference where the data source WILL BE when I am designing the Template Part? I have tried to use its direct XPath (../../my:Submitted in this instance), but as it doesn't currently exist, it errors. Many thanks

Why not just add that node to the XTP and then reference it? After all, the XTP adds the nodes to the parent form anyway. And the parent form can be easily changed to set that field after the XTP is injected.

Thanks very much for your reply. That's the way I currently get around this problem; I put a temporary field into my Template Part, then after adding the part to a parent form, change any references to the temporary field to the field in the parent form. But if I put 20 occurrences of the template part on the form, this becomes tedious and time consuming.
