Hi all Gurus,
I have a problem with InfoPath form. My scenario is as
below:
Overview:
We have a SharePoint. Following are some assumptions:
1.
In local network, the URL of the site is: http://server/
2.
In Internet, The URL to access to the site from
Internet is: http://www.mydomain.com/
3.
User from Internet can NOT access to the site by using local URL (http://server/)
4.
User from Intranet CAN access to the site using Internet URL (http://www.mydomain.com/)
5.
The SharePoint Server CAN NOT access to the site using Internet URL
6.
We use User Profile Web service to get some
properties such as: FirstName, Manager … to fill out to my InfoPath form
7.
We use MOSS 2007
8.
OS: Window Server 2008
9.
SharePoint & SQL database are installed
together on the server.
SCENARIO 1: Use
Intranet URL
We develop an InfoPath form. We use following URL to get the
user profile properties:
http://server/_vti_bin/UserProfileService.asmx?WSDL
If we use the form in my network, the form will work
correctly. That means we can get the properties.
If we use the form from Internet (assume that we access from
outside of my network), the form will not work. I think it will not know the
local URL.
SCENARIO 2: Use
Internet URL
We still use this form. But for user profile service, we now
use following URL
http://www.mydomain.com/_vti_bin/UserProfileService.asmx?WSDL
After we make a data connection using the above web service.
We found the error as below:
An error occurred accessing a data source.
An entry has been added to the Windows event log of the
server.
Log ID:5566

In the log file of SharePoint (In 12\LOGS) I find the error as below:
