How to add Custom message on failure to submit the form?

    Hi All,

I have added custom success and failure messages to the browser based form but only the success message is showing up. The failure message is not showing up. Instead it shows default error message only. Am I missing something? Please find attached snapshot of settings I am using.

    Thanks,

    Hi Rahul,

This looks like a bug in InfoPath. I'd contact Microsoft.

    Hi Patrick,

Sorry, actually I interpreted this funcionlity wrong. The success/failure messages in Advanced section of submit options are displayed after the form is submitted. I was expecting it to display custom error message if there are validation errors or invalid data in field controls.

The custom error message would get displayed if there is any error after submit.

Is there any way to display validation errors on the form in consolidated form like how ASP.NET ValidationSummary control does?

    Thanks,

    Rahul Babar

Sure, you could keep track of all validation errors on the error board and display those before submitting if the count is > 0 (condition to a pre-rule on the submit button). To get and display the error board issues, you could write code or use qRules which provides this info. We also have a training module we can make available that has a taskpane which shows error message. send email to Support *at* Qdarba *dot* com if you are interested.
