Hello,
I have a document library containing about 1000 InfoPath broswer-based forms. We've recently updated the template to include a few new fields. We need these fields to be promoted to the existing forms and populated with data immediately. I know that the template won't be applied to a form until the form is opened and submitted; however, we need these fields to be added to the form programmatically before the forms are necessarily opened/submitted manually by someone. There are a number of views in our SharePoint site who's filters depend on the values of these new fields, so the forms won't show up appropriately in these views unless the new fields are on the forms and populated. Is there a way to do a mass update of all existing forms so that they all reflect the most recent template version?
I have searched around for a solution to this and haven't found anything viable. One possible solution was to programmatically inject the XML nodes for the new fields into teach of the forms; however, the existing forms currently in the library do not all reflect the same template version, so the nodes in which the new fields exist are not necessarily in place on all forms.
I do not have the ability to buy a 3rd party party product to handle this (even if there is one out there), so I'm hoping that I can accomplish it programmatically....figuring I can use some combination of the SharePoint API and the Microsoft.Office.Interop.Infopath namespace.
Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been searching for weeks for a solution.
