    Changing Event in code behind

    Hi,

I am trying to provide some validation for a combo box selection but I am unable to access the changing event in the code behind or in the design surface. In all of the documentation the the EventManager.XmlEvents[].Changing is identified as available for use. Does anybody have any work arounds or solutions for this issue.

     Thanks,

    Rich

It would seem your form is set for browser compatibility mode:

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.office.infopath.xmlevent.changing(v=Office.11).aspx

This type or member can be accessed only from code running in forms opened in Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007.

Is the Validating or Changed event, or rules, insufficient for your needs?

Re: Changing Event in code behind

    Hi Jimmy,

When the user selects a new value in the drop down list the data in the repeating grid gets refreshed, which could mean that current unsaved data gets lost. I am trying to provide the user with the ability to cancel the event should they want to save the data prioring to changing the value. The Validating and Changed events do not provide any method or property to cancel the event.

    Thanks,
