    One supplier, many products

I am struggling with setting up my form properly. I would like to have one supplier and to add products in a repeating table with the necessary fields. What combination of sections/repeating sections do I use to prevent what I have (which is the supplier name appearing each time a new item is updated)?

Apologies for this being such a new-user question, the transition from Access to InfoPath is a slow one for me.

    Hi Misha,

Attached is a sample form I put together that might answer your question.  Does this help answer your question?  I made it so that a user can't add a supplier but can insert mutiple products for a supplier.  Without knowing your exact process this may not answer you question but take a look.

Also, are you submitting this data to a DB?  Your comment about the "supplier name appearing each time a new items is updated" makes me wonder if you have a DB submit here?

    Ted

Yes, Ted, I am submitting to a DB. I wish I wasn't, but we're not yet at the SharePoint level of intra-company convincing. The user doesn't need to add a supplier, just determine which one they're wanting to attribute the order to.

I'll have a look at your form and see if it meets the need. Thank you so much for passing it on! Will comment here when I know something more.
