    Update value in Infopath form..

Hi, can anyone tell me how (if it's possible) I can update a value in an infopath form from another infopath form?

If I get the user to select the form ID from a drop down, can I then push a value to it in the background?

    Hello

Yes You can push any value to the Form ID Selected in the Dropdown.
Open the Dropdown properties in the Design View and view the List Box entries radio buttons and select appropriately and set values from where you want to recieve the data

    Hope this helps You

    Hi,

I'm not sure if I've made clear what it is I want, or perhaps I don't understand your answer.

If I have 2 infopath forms (A&B), I want to be in one form A, select the ID of the other form B from a drop down and push a value from form A to form B. I know I can pull values from B to A but how do I get them to go the other way. I've tried using webservices UpdateListItems but get errors.

Hi Edove and welcome to our forum,

Greg has posted forum responses regarding this in the past and I suggest searching the forum (upper right). According to him:

it's just a matter of getting a ref to the other xdocument:
    IXMLDOMDocument x = thisXDocument.(blah.open new document)

And, then you use the x to set the fields int the newly opened document. You can also set one of the fields to be the handle of the existing thisXDocument and have the new form set values in the form from which it was opened.

    Hope this helps!
