Open the form in edit mode

I have multiple views of a form and I would like the form to open in edit mode instead of having to select the edit button. Is this possible and if so how is it accomplished.

    Thanks

It sounds like you have a read only view enabled?  If that is true it sounds like the form is defaulting to the read only view and the edit button switches to the edit view.  In order to open the form in the right view you need to change the on load rules and have the form open to the right view.

I do not think it is a read only view - I checked the properties. Perhaps I should be more clear. What I would like is when a user opens an existing form, all the fields are enabled - without having to select the edit button.

Hmm, maybe it's because it's Friday and my brian is fried but where is this edit button?  Is this an InfoPath button or a button you added to the form?  If you can attach the template that might help, also - is this a browser or client form and 2007 or 2010?

InfoPath 2010 browser form - custom for for a SharePoint 2010 list. I guess I should have included that earlier. The edit button is an infopath button.
