I want to update a field value in an Infopath form that is sitting in a document library in sharepoint. I want the user to be able to hit a link in sharepoint which opens a dialog box where the user can enter a value and then update the infopath form with that value.

Can this be done? I know I can launch a pop-up webpart from sharepoint, the tricky bit is pushing the data to infopath!

Hi Edove,
In the popup webpart you need to load the XML, set the value and save the XML back to sharepoint.

Without loading the XML we cannot change a value in the XML file.
