Form load speed dependent on record row location?

I built a form that automatically loads data from six SharePoint lists when opened. It uses the Project ID to match the data in each list to display the correct records. While testing this form using a test Project ID, the form took three minutes and thirty-five seconds to load. I assumed this was because we have so many lists automatically loading data every time the form opens.

While trying to optimize the form loading speed, I had the template set to auto-create the form when a new document set was created. Someone created a new project so the form was created in that folder. I decided to open it because it had the new Project ID instead of my test ID. I was surprised to discover it opened in eight seconds. So I started testing that new form. I put in my test Project ID, saved and closed. Opening the form took three minutes and thirty-five seconds just like before. I put the new Project ID back in and did the same test. It took eight seconds. Curious, I started testing several other Project ID's beginning with the most recent projects going back to the beginning of the Projects list where all the Project ID's originate. Sure enough, the further back I went, the slower it took to load the form. I recorded all the times, then repeated the actions to see if the results were identical. They were indeed identical.

Is the speed of form loading dependent on the location of the record in a list? If so is there a way to index the form to speed this up? The Project ID column is already indexed in the Projects list.

    Thanks,

    Rob
