    Digital Certificates

    Hi all,

We have users in our company which all log into some PCs (next to machines) with the same name and password when they have their shift (usually one at a time). However also each of the users has his own AD account. As we combine InfoPath with K2 (workflow management) we did the following trick to still pass the users credentials to the initiated process instance and not the credentials from the machine (which are usually send when you for example send an email from this PC).

You right click the InfoPath icon under C:\Program Files\Ms Office\Office 11\InfoPath and select send to Desktop. Now you have a new shortcut. Select properties, under the Shortcut Tab select advanced and then select "Run with different Credentials". Also under the Shortcut Tab you add to the "Target" string
/newhttp://servername/path where you published the template" .
If the user double click now the shortcut they are always asked to enter their account name and password. If they do so the infopath form referenced in the target string loads.

Now to my actual question. Is it somehow possible to install the cretificate in a way that it is installed for everyone, cos at the moment each user has to install the certificate when he launches the application the first time. If he is working next week on a different machine (with it on a different PC) he has to install the certificate there again.

Long text short question: How do I install certificates for all users of one PC ?

    Thx in advance

    Hey,

Do you have desktop admins that can write some scripting when the user logs into the PC? That is what we did....the digital certificate needs to be installed per user for the machine. It actually creates about 10 registry entries (each entry will be dependent on the certificate).

If you admins can capture the digitial certificate information then they should be able to script it into the logon script.

Check out the following registry keys for the user:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\CA\Certificates
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\TrustedPublisher\Certificates

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\TrustedPublisher\Certificates
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\TrustedPublisher\Certificates
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\TrustedPublisher\Certificates
The trick will be to determine which certificate you are seeking under those keys.

    He mbenbow,

thx for the tip. Yes we do have desktop admins. I'll try to figure out something together with our Helpdesk (in case they are not to busy again :) ).
