Hi,

 This is my scenario, in my infopath form, i have this firstname and last name textbox. I have promoted these fields so that I can use them as a column in my form library. and in my workflow in sharepoint designer, i want to update my lastname to "sila" if the text in the firstname textbox is "ako".

But my problem is that I cannot see my fields(firstname and lastname) in the "update" in sharepoint designer.

 is there a way so that i will be able to see my fields in the "update" in sharepoint designer workflow?

When you promote the fields, there is a check box to allow them to be edited through SharePoint. The box will need to be checked for every field you promote before it can be accessed in workflows and other SharePoint UI stuff.

 ive tried that but when i tick the checkbox, a message appears telling that validation, rules etc. will not run if tick the checkbox
