This might be something for the 2010 forum, but wasn't sure.
Normally when you access a web service via a secondary data source, you get two prompts. One prompt is for you to enter the sample data (if an unknown structure is returned) and another prompt is for the default values to send.
It seems in InfoPath 2010, you only get one prompt (the one for the sample data set).
The problem comes in that when you tell IP to query the data source when the form opens you cannot set these values for the input parameters to the web service method (unless you go into code or turn off automatic load of the secondary data source). Rules on form load seem to fire AFTER the datasource is queried, so you can't even set it in Form Load rules.
Am I missing something here? Is there a way around this?
It seems like a step backward for MS to do this because the whole point of querying a data source that has parameters is to be able to set them before calling it. Making this a more complex and convoluted method is counterproductive to what InfoPath is supposed to stand for.
