I'm hoping that someone has found a way to easily copy and paste fields in the Data Source pane, The scenario is I have a form with a number of repeating fields, for instance; Client_Code_1, Client_Code_2, Client_Code_3, Client_Code_4, etc. They are all Decimal (double) types.

At the mo I have to create each field individually and it takes ages. I just want to be able to create the first one, then copy as many as I need and change the sequential numbering.

I can probably guess what the answer is but maybe someone out there has found a way to do this.

I'm using InfoPath 2007 and the form will be used in the client not a browser.

Hi -- sorry if this is a silly question, but why not just have one ClientCode field and put it in a repeating group?

So you know, there isn't a way to copy / paste in the data source, but you can use a reference to have two fields with the same name....

No not a silly question, I thought maybe one of the repeating functions might be the answer but I can't get it to work, probably because I'm not doing it right.

So let's say I have a ClientCode field which is in a repeating group. When I drag the field onto the form it puts it in a repeating section, if I drag it again it puts it in another repeating section but I get the "Control stores duplicate data" message which means that all instances of the field will have the same value which I don't want.

It doesn't seem to matter whether the ClientCode field is repeating or not, when you have more than one instance they can only hold the same value.
