Published fields empty when document uploaded

    Hi,

I have created an infopath form, published it from infopath to sharepoint 2007 (document library). During publishing process I have selected 3 fields (Order number, Reference Number, Date) to be published. Now when I go to document Library I can see new content type in the menu 'New' and also all the published columns are visible. When I select New from the menu and fill in new form and save it, I can see all the published properties filled correctly, i.e, order number.

Problem: but when I upload an xml document from the menu 'upload document'. The document gets uploaded but the published columns are empty. I have checked the xml document manually and it contains all the nodes and values correctly.

Could anyone please explain if I am doing something wrong or Do I need to write some custom code? I need to solve it ungently as it is required by my customer.

     Thanks a lot in advance.

Have you tried 'relinking' the uploaded XML? More here....

I just tried re-linking but still same. But it shouldnt be re-linking issue because if I create new form using 'new' menu then these columns get correctly filled. The problem occurs only when I upload an xml. Any other ideas? Thanks a lot.

Actually, since it only occurs when you upload an XML file, I'd find it more likely that the XML isn't properly linked to the template. Do you have the correct processing instruction in your XML, with the correct template location? What happens if you open one of your uploaded XML files and then resave it -- are your promoted properties populated then?

When I resave the uploaded form, the form data gets saved but promoted properties are still empty. Below I am pasting the xml sample that I received from the customer, to me PI looks ok? Could you please also tell me how I can save (to the harddisK) the xml of the form created in the document library using 'new' menu? in this way I can compare xml of both versions (new created and the uploaded).

Is http://moss2:5555/FormServerTemplates/Datalog-EOC-Bestellbestätigung_test.xsn the correct URL for the form template? So this is a browser form? What is the trust level on your template? Not sure if this will help you at all, but you may want to take a look at this link. Is your form template set to update existing XML?

There should be a menu option on the XML in the SharePoint library to download a copy -- or you can right click the XML in the library to save locally.

Yes the URL is correct. It is browser form. How/ where can I check if the form template is set to update existing XML?

That is under the Form Options -- it doesn't seem likely that would be causing your issue, though. You may want to do some more searching online for issues with promoted properties and IPFS -- I'm wondering if the issue you are having might be IPFS specific.
