    Auto generate form file name

Hi all, Is there a way to standardise the naming of an infopath form when a user submits it to a sharepoint form library? Example: form title - username - form number Thanks in advance!

When you create your submt data connection, you will get a dialog that will give you a chance to specify the name of the file - for this, you can use values from the fields in the form.

Re: Auto generate form file name

I am trying to create the file name from two values in my fields and am always getting NaN as the file name.  Both the values work independently, but not together

is there a spacific way to enter 2 different values in a row for the file name?

Use concat function - attached a snapshot of how it looks. Attach your template if you sill run into issues.

Re: Auto generate form file name

I've got it working now! one more thing, I would like to number the forms when they are created so there is no overwrite.  is there a way of auto numbering them too?

     thanks again!

Add a field or attribute (say field1) with a default value to 0, and in the submit button add a rule to set a fields value (field1 = sum(field1) + 1) - this way it increments field1 value. Concat this field in your subject field.

    Hope that helps!
