Publishing InfoPath form on a web server

    Hi,

Very new to InfoPath and need some help with publishing a form that I have created.

I have created a form and published it onto our web server - all fairly straightforward. However when you click on the URL to access the form a message comes up and prompts for a username and password to be entered:

"The server xxxxxxxx requires a username and password.Warning: This server is requesting that your username and password be sent in an insecure manner (basic authentication without a secure connection)."

Weirdly if you keep clicking cancel on the dialogue box, it eventually opens up the form and allows you to completed the form and submit it etc...I am guessing that it is something to do with permissions, or the location to where it has been published????

Basically we need the form to be accessible to a lot of users based in different locations and departments (it is related to an IT project that I am working on). All other information/documents etc we have put on the project website so that users can access them. It seemed like a sensible idea to make this form acessible in the same way. None of them need to be able to design or alter the template, just to be able to complete the fields and submit the form (it has a submit button that emails it to our IT helpdesk). No data needs to be saved or added to any databases etc and all the users do have InfoPath installed on their PC's. Unfortunately and rather frustratingly we don't have a SharePoint server!

Any help/assistance/ideas would be much appreciated!

    Thanks in anticpation.
