Ok, I have some more newbie questions...

Using Infopath 2003.  I have a form that based on the email address not being blank it does a data connection and it fills in the Employee Name and Employee ID. 

So my next question is: Is there a way (based on the Email) can it also populate the data from a different connection for a role based on that email?  Hope I am making sense... it is in the top part of the form under Associate Information.

Second question: Then based on this active role selected it will have to populate the Activities Dropdown. Doable?

 first question: yes you can do so, but the rule you have set on your role drop down is wrong, you are setting the ROLE field of your secondary connection to ROLE field of your secondary connection. you need to set ROLE field of your secondary connection to Associated Role.

second question: you can have all the values and their associated roles, in a repeating table and bind the table to the activitiesDD, filtered on the role selected..
