Can Extract SharePoint Attachments Plugin name the extracted files intelligently?

Sorry for posting here, can't brain today, I've got the sick.  Also, apologies if the answer to my question is in the documentation, which I did read!

Question:  Can the Extract SharePoint Attachments Plugin be configured to name the attachments it extracts to the SharePoint library intelligently?  By "intelligently," I mean, can the extracted file's name include the form name from which it was extracted?  Alternately, can the form name be included in the metadata for the attachment?

Background:  We have about 2000 submitted InfoPath forms containing attachments.  We need to bring those attachments into a SharePoint Records Center that is integrated with KnowledgeLake.  Additional metadata will be applied to the attachments.  The IP forms were not named particularly intelligently, but the names are at least unique.  If we use the Plugin to export the attachments to a SharePoint Library, it looks like the Plugin will name those attachments something like

As far as I can tell in my brain fog, this has no user-friendly reference to the InfoPath form name from which it was exported.

If we cannot easily match the attachments with the original form, we might as well export them manually and rename them at that point.  Alternatives welcome :)

    Thanks for your help!

     Hello Anneliese,

You are correct. The prefix added to the exported filenames is simply a timestamp to prevent collisions and does not give any indication of the form from which the file originated. The plugin does not presently provide any other way of naming the files and does not provide a way to populate their metadata.

One possible alternative is to use the attachmentSubfolderFormat parameter and specify a value of $sourceFileName for it. This will not change the way the files are named, but it will place each form's files in a subfolder named after the file from which they originated. Would this possibly be a workable solution?

If you would be willing to purchase one support pack from our web store, we could modify the plugin to allow specifying a formula for the actual filenames and this would allow you to incorporate the source documents' names into your extracted attachments. Please let us know if you are interested.

Thanks so much for your quick response - must have hit my spam filter somehow!  Let me contemplate my navel and talk to the business side of the house about this...
