Hello

In my sharepoint workflow in one of the steps I assign a to do item to one of the members. The form is browser enabled and I want to open the form only in browser from wherever it is opened.

The problem here is the link in the Task list of the assigned user opens the form in infopath 2007 client. What can I do so that the form opens in browser for the assigned user?

One thing I can think of is associate a workflow with the task list and set action to change the link item in the Task list to point to browser link of the form.

Any other work around / solution to this?

the link in the task list points to the infopath form. for a form to be opened in infopath the path of the form needs to be passed as argument to the FormServer.aspx page.

What I am looking for is a way to generate such a URL and present as a link to the user in the task list. One way I have thought of is having a workflow assignes to the task list. The workflow starts whenever an item is added into the task list. Workflow action will be to assign the link column the value similar to one you suggested.

I am looking for a way to get this done without creating any workflow. Anything inbuilt in Forms services/SPD workflows/Sharepoint to acheive the same in an easier way?
