IF statement using repeating table columns

     Hi,

I have a repeating table, as shown below.

The Critical Success Factors are populated from another repeating table earlier in the form. Under each option is a column of dropdown lists which allow the user to select either Failed or Met.

For each option, if any of the dropdowns show failed, then the footer cell must show Failed, otherwise it can show Met.

I've tried to achieve this using functions and rules but haven't been able to do it.

Critical Success Factors Option 1 Option 2 Up to Option 7
Success factor Dropdown list (Failed, Met) Dropdown list (Failed, Met) Dropdown list (Failed, Met)
Another success factor Dropdown list (Failed, Met) Dropdown list (Failed, Met) Dropdown list (Failed, Met)
    Outcome (Failed/Met)

I'm fairly new to InfoPath and haven't yet done any coding, but I can't see any way to do this using formulae.

Would something like the attached work?

     Hi,

I'm unable to open that, we're still on 2003 unfortunately.

That looks like it will fit the bill nicely, thanks.

Would you mind explaining how you did it, as I had a look but couldn't find anything.

Edit: have just noticed you used conditional formatting, but feel free to still give an explanation.

It's all about the conditional formatting on the expression boxes in the footer.

Thanks for your help so far.

I'm still having a little trouble with this though. No matter what I select in the drop down, 'Met' is only ever displayed. If you're willing to take a look, I've attached the form and the part in question is 3.4.

Since the control is in the context of my:section3, you need a ../ before my:section2 in your formulas:

           boolean(../my:section2/my:group24/my:group25[my:field110 = "failed"])

That's very strange, I had that in the formula originally but then removed it during my trial and error. But it seems to work now, thanks.
