InfoPath Dev

Hello,

I'm having difficulty publishing my template to a web server. When I do I get the following error: "InfoPath cannot save the following form. Network problems are preventing this file from being saved." It sounds like a right issue, but I don't know what to change to fix it.

Any Idea's?

Hi Lewis68,
This is because of network connectivity issues. It's not an InfoPath issue. Your Web server isn't responding. Try again a couple times and if it continues to fail, try saving locally and upload manually. My guess is it could be either a network outage or a permissions issue.

Funny thing is, I'm doing it on the server itself. How do I manually copy the file to the web server and make "http://server//form.xsn" the open path?

if you publish your form in the shared folder who is your website after you can upload it with the link that you have provide!

I'm not sure I know what you mean. I can publish it to the actual shared folder of the website (c:\inetpub\wwwroot), but it won't open if I browse to it from the browser http://server/form.xsn).

So how do(can) I manually change the published location of the XSN file, from (c:\inetpub\wwwroot) to http://server/form.xsn)?

In the last step of the Publishing Wizard you should be able to specify thehttp://server/form.xsn URL.

1) Choose Publish from the File Menu, click Next.
2) Select To a Shared Folder, and then click Next.
3) Click the Browse button to locate your filepath (C:\inetpub\wwwroot).
4) Click Next.
5) Type your public URL - http://server/form.xsn)
6) Click Finish.

Hope this helps! If you plan on doing this with several forms I would strongly suggest using SharePoint services. I was trying to publish to a Web Site, then give C:\inetpub\wwwroot 1st andhttp://server/form.xsn 2nd.
