    Email Attachment Error Message

I have created a form that gets completed by both InfoPath 2003 and 2007 users. Sometimes they require authorisation by a different user and there is a data connection which sends the form as an email attachment to the authoriser. This usually works fine but I have had one authoriser who gets the message "Access Denied" when trying to open the attachment, however when he saves it to his PC and opens the form from there it opens without a problem! Could anyone tell me why this could be and how I could prevent this from happening again?  He seems to have the correct permissions on the Sharepoint site where the form template and the source data connections are located.

    Hi,

Is there any additional information in the error message other than just Access Denied?  If there is it would be good to know the text of the full error message.

Is this user able to create a new form from the library in SharePoint?  What permissions does this user have in SharePoint on that library?

The entire message is "InfoPath cannot open the the following file: 152 Reconcilation System.xml. Access is denied". No he cannot create a new blank form - he gets the same message.

The user has contribute access to the form library and read access to the data source lists.

Did you try asking the user to clear their InfoPath cache?  Perhaps this is a template issue of some kind and clearing the cache might resolve the issue.

    1. Close all instances of InfoPath on your computer.

    2. Click on the Start button in the lower left hand corner of your computer and type in Run.

    3. Open the Run application.

    4. Copy the following and paste this in the the Open: text box in the Run application: infopath /cache clearall.

    5. Click OK.
