    How to save URL (hyperlink) Description in a Sharepoint list column (anyURI)

    Hi all,

    I'm new in forum and need a help about that:

    I need save in a sharepoint list column one link (URL), example:

    In my submit button , i created the follow rule: concat("http://www.xyz.com/detail.aspx?wf ="; Field), before click, that value is saved correctly in list colum with follow value

    http://www.xyz.com/detail.aspx?wf =1234

    But i need one method to save that link in small format (description), example: save in column only word 'Detail', when i click in Detail, the link (http://www.xyz.com/detail.aspx?wf =1234) will open the link to me.

    I solved using .Net in edit code ex: myItem["Detail"] = http://www.google.com.br, Google;

    But i want to solve using only Infopath functions, rules, etc.

     Tks

    Sorry Richard, but I have no idea. Have you looked at Data Views? I know this is not what you need, but there is a way to set up a link using a data view. Not sure it will have any bearing though on your problem.... stumped.

    Has anyone had any luck in accomplishing this? I need to populate a hyperlink column (with description) in a SharePoint list.

     Hello man,

     I solved my problem with .Net ... example:

                SPSite targetSite = new SPSite("http://intranet2.abc.com/"); //Your site
                SPWeb mySite = targetSite.OpenWeb();
                mySite.AllowUnsafeUpdates = true;
                SPList myTasks = mySite.Lists["My Library"]; //Your Library
                SPListItemCollection myItems = myTasks.Items;

                foreach (SPListItem myItem in myItems)
                {

                    // Saving name "Detail" in a sharepoint column

                     myItem["URL Column Name"] = "http://intranet.abc.com ", Detail"; // <---- Detail in column

                }
