Does Infopath 2010 require require a receipient of an Infopath form email to have Infopath?

I am testing Infopath 2010.  If I use InfoPath, does it require each recepient of an email form that I sent to have InfoPath too.  Last I heard it was about $200.00.  Thats pretty steep.

I want to use Access to send email with InfoPath like forms; forms that support drop downs or comboboxes, but I believe if I do send such a form that the recepient has to have InfoPath too.  Will someone confirm this?

well if you send infopath form via mail and expect the reciepent to act on it, he needs to have infopath client installed on his machine

    Thank you for responding.

I am an Access Developer.  What I am intersted in is Collecting limited amounts of data by email. I am aware of the bells and whistles associated with InfoPath but really all I am interested in is sending a form that is not particularly complex to someone by email and having their answer sent back. What I would like to know is how much is it going to cost the person on the receiving end of the email to fill it out.  If it is $200.00 then that kills the idea.  I use the technology to gather criteria for reports.  That is, the user wants a particular Access report from headquarters. From an email he says, in effect, I want report such and such for OrderID such and such.  By filling this out and sending it back to headquarters, Access takes it from there, creates a report (based on the criteria given by the user in the Email) and the report is fired of in an email in a .PDF format.

I am able to do this right now actually, without InfoPath.  Access gives you two options when Collecting data by Email, one is to do it in InfoPath, or the other is to send the email making use of HTML.  The main thing I don't like about the HTML is that it's not very pretty, but it does serve most of the need and even has some limited combobox-like capabilities for certain fields.

If I could do the same thing in InfoPathy it would be nice but this email might go to half dozen different individuals.  It those individuals have to have 200.00 worth of software on each of their machines in order to fill out the email  the idea is dead.

I see some promotional material on Web forms using Sharepoint Services, but if this is something you can't get from Office Live, then again, the idea is dead.  Can't afford MOSS.

So, if you have any ideas, suggestions or instruciton it will be appreciated.  Email is not as attractive as a web site with bells and whistles, but it does work, and if it can be done without a lot of muss or fuss or a lot of cost, this is what I'm looking for.

Yes, I undestand that but what is the cost?  Is Infopath Client the same thing as regular Infopath?  Is it as expensive or is this a different, less expensive version?

i am not good at estimating and costing stuff. i dont even know the cost of this S/W. you will need to figure it yourself whether you can afford a single licence of MOSS or multiple licences of infopath. I guess you should talk to microsoft guys regarding this, they might have some solution for you. Infopath comes bundled with office. so if you people have Office licence you might be havign infopath licences also.
