I am populating an infopath DDL from a list. Is there a way I can pick a particular value as the default value.

Yes, just pre-populate your node linked to your DDL with the initial value you wish to have.

Just to clarify, I am populating the DDL from a sharepoint list (which has name and email columns). The DDL in the infopath form reads from this list (with value as email address and display name as name).

Where and how do I pre-populate the node.

Hi,

You have secondary data sources for your lists then, right? You can loop through your secondary DOM by code (do a search on this forum for code sample), and just assign the value you need to the node in your main DOM (thisXDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode("YourXPath")).
