HTTP Basic Authentication when Publishing Form Template

I want to publish a form template to a non-Microsoft WebDAV server, which requires authentication (HTTP Basic).  How can I make InfoPath to authenticate (i.e. set the Authorization header)

(As a workaround I have been using Fiddler to add the Authorization header, but that is not a solution for my users.)

I don't think getting InfoPath to authenticate in that manner is possible without interceding like you are currently doing.

But there is a simpler method.  When publishing, use 'To a network location' and specify a local folder, but in the step where it asks 'If all users can access the location that you entered ...', specify the url where it will live on the webdav server.  Then copy the xsn over to the webdav server.
