    Deleting Data Sources from Samples

I starting my form based on the Time Card (Detailed) Sample that comes out-of-the-box with Infopath. I am nearing completion on my form and want to "clean-up" the form before I publish it to Sharepoint.

There are a few data sources/controls that I don't use in my form such as currency, some fields, etc. I had no problem removing the controls from my form, however the data sources are locked and no delete option is on them. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to correct it?

    Hi,

The secondary data source is linked to an xml file in that sample. The only way to remove the fields from the Data Source is to update the source in Tools / Data Connection / Modify. You need to point your secondary source to a "cleaned" xml doc.

The easier maintenance is when the connection is to a database, because then you can just unckeck the fields that you don't need.

    Hope that it helps.
