Hi All

Im new to Infopath. I am developing a form that i will be sending to customers. There is a part of the form that i enter in text into some fields and a second section that the customer enters in information.

What i would like to do is the fields in table 1 to be locked once i email the form to customer but leave the customer part of the form able to be edited by the customer.

Does anyone know how to do this as i cant see how i can do this or is there another program i should be using

hi Lee,

you will have to use conditional formatting for this.

before you send the email, set a value(say customercopy) to some value (say yes).

on the fields you want to be read only to the customer.

right click the field and click conditional formatting and check the value of customercopy field. If it is equal to yes set the fields readonly.

another easier way will be to create another view name it as customerview, set the fields read only which ever you want. on form opening switch the view based on value in customercopy.
