Consuming custom sharepoint web services from infopath

    Hi There,
I have developed a custom web service hosted inside my MOSS platform. The web service takes string 3 values, List, Field and queryValue and performs a simple query returning a data set. I did this because I could not seem to use the lists web service from infopath at all. The web service seems to be installed correctly as it can be consumed from a custom console app, however, the console app does require the [webservicename].UseDefaultCredentials = true; in order to avoid a 401 unaithorised error. From inside infopath 2k7 when adding a new a data connection, I can see the web service after entering the URL/_vti_bin/webservicename.asmx. Infopath then required me to enter 3 bits of data as expected. At this point I think the sample data is used to perform the query in order to build the returning schema for the form. This does not happen, Am I missing something here? I am developing the infopath form on the same box as the MOSS install

Do I maybe need to add some code the custom webservice to ensure authentication?

Does infopath use strings when passing parameters?

    Thanks in advance
