Hi hope this nice forum can shred som light to this issue.
And I hope you can follow me in this description....
We have browser forms in webparts in shrepoint, that cliens can access and send to our customer service, and they get them as mail in Outlook (We have office 2010). In the form we uses texboxes for entering string values, not Rich text boxes, since this is an external site open to our clients.
The problem is that the textfields become textareas (text objects?) in the mailbody. And multiline text fileds often don't display all its content. (We have set them to auto height and allow several rows). You have "to go into" the text objects to cut and paste the text, and not to talk about the things you have to do to get all the text in a multiline field. In outlook you have to mark the message as "Edit message". Then you can drag the textarea borders to display all content. BUT that covers all text beneath it. The new area of the text area does not push the text under it futher down. It places it self above. To fix that you have to format the text area as rectangular in the layout tab, in the format textarea dialog (I m not sure this is the correct english naming, since we have swedish version). After that that textarea pushes down all text and fileds correct. Fine...but backoffice get very frustrated to do this for every mail the get...
And when backoffice reply to the client or pass the mail on to another department all the text fields become images...So it is impossible to cut and paste the text (if somebody needs to do this).
The other way we tried was to make the fields as expression boxes. That seems more correct to do, since they become regular text in the mail body, BUT with the multiline boxes they disregards the paragraph breaks. So long texts become dificult to read for backoffice staff. Some client write small stories to them :-)
Its so frustrating, and I think crappy way to handle this. If only the expression boxes used the paragraph breaks it should be fine...
Is there any way we can do to get the line breaks in the expression boxes, or any settings in outlook to make things better for displaying the text fields?
Or any other ideas how to handle this?
