InfoPath Dev

I'm trying to collect data from my form and JScript to some other functions.  However, I'm having difficulty storing the data.  Everytime that I try to use it, I receive an "Object Required" error message.  I beleive that this is because I don't have the path to the controls correct. 

Data Source:  Main

Group:  myFields

Control:  txtApp

Can someone help out with the correct path for this control so that I can manipulate the data from it within JScript code?  Thank you. 

Well, my guess would be /my:myFields/my:txtApp but I'm guessing. If you are using IP 2007, you can right click the data field in the data source task pane and use Copy XPath to get the xpath. If you are using 2003, preview the form (or open it) and save a copy of the XML from the form. Open with the text editor of your choice. You can then figure out the XPath from the XML.
