Signed templates for a form that uses signed sections
Hi
We have an InfoPath 2007 form published to a SharePoint 2007 library that uses digital certificates to sign approvals of sections within the form. The form also uses quite a lot of code so the template has to be signed as well. All the certificates are issued by our internal CA - so far so good.
My questions are:
- As user signing certificates expire the signatures on the form switch to invalid - I understand that this is by design and why certificates work this way - however apart from issuing REALLY long user certificates has anyone found a way around this issue by renewing certificates for example ?
- When the code signing certificate expires the normal InfoPath method is to just resign and re-publish the template but this invalidates ALL the approval signings on every form. Is this really what is intended - it is a real pain if the form has a long active life, maybe several years.
Any help or comments gratefully received.
