Hello,
My team is preparing to replace our company's current paper forms with browser enabled IP forms in MOSS 2007. Currently, we have our completed IP forms in a Document Center site, with libraries created for each corporate team (HR, Accounting, IT, etc). Within these libraries, we have content types set up for each form that originates from that department, allowing the users to click on the IT library, click on the New dropdown, and select the form template they need.
As it stands, we have 2 big hurdles - submitting the forms, and presentation/delivery. For submitting, we have tried the email option but when the form is emailed, it displays in the body of the email, and the form dimensions look off when compared to the browser form (text boxes are enlongated, formatting issues, etc). We also tried a Print View option, which allows the user to print preview the filled out form, then chose their printer, and print out a copy to locally or to PDF for emailing/saving. This method seems to work well but we've received some test user feedback that not allowing an email option to be included takes away from the "electronic" feel and functionality of filling out the form through a browser. My question to you all is what methods have you implemented for form submittal? We do eventually plan on attaching workflows to the forms that will submit the completed form to a document library, but that phase has not begun yet.
As for presentation/delivery, which methods have you used to present the forms to the end user? Do you have a forms homepage with links to frequently accessed forms, or a CQWB that displays the forms by a particular query?
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Matt
