There are several scenarios where it would be useful to determine the information provided during the publishing of an InfoPath application to a SharePoint library. For example:
-
Original developer is no longer available
-
Original developer has forgotten what s/he provided as arguments
-
Separate QA or production group needs to install the application and needs information about the installation process in a standard format
What I would find really useful is some sort of summary that would inform me that that a specific published IP application was installed from template ABC at disk location c:/path/to/template/ , has the following data connections, was installed with the following options selected, ... enough information that I, or someone following after me in the future, would be able to have a pretty good chance of republishing the template into a working state.
Keeping notes while one does the publishing is less useful, if for no other reason then one has to remember, each time they publish, to update the notes if they have to tweak something. Someone reading the notes might think the notes they are using are up to date, never knowing that the last person to publish the application had to (or decided to) make some sort of change.
Is anyone aware of a way to access such information?
Thank you.
